well the yankees lost! whooohooo

well the yankees lost to the red sox yesterday and let me tell you i am a happy camper! i used to work in the call center for ticketmaster which i like doing for the most part, except for the onsales.  the people could be nasty.  i still work for the camping end of the business.  i like my job and i like helping people get reservations.  for the most part. there are somedays not so much.  just had a customer complaining about our fees. well i can see i am not going to get much writing done it is busy

hopefully i will have nice customers

i was just thinking why i started a blog, i watched julie and julia the other day again and i just thought it would be cool to get my thoughts out there and see what people have to say.  i am not just so you know very computer literate.   i can play games, work, and email.  i have a cell phone which never rings, i dont do the whole internet and be connected with my phone, i dont text, at least very often, and certainly dont understand why on earth people want to be so connected with the world all the time.  i think not being connected 24 seven is alright, i actually like sitting in my living room, with the tv off and read.  (what is that you say?) that is when you open a book, and there are words written on the page that tell a story.  it is a wonderful thing really.  now they have electronic books, which is good when your traveling, but me i just bring the book and make it fit in my pocketbook.  come hell or high water, gotta have a book with me at all times.

omg it is soooo humid out

i was talking to a very good friend this morning complaining about how hot it has been this summer, unusually hot.  i know i am bitching about the weather and when you live in the northeast there are only two major things to complain about.  they are sports and weather.  where sports are concerned that would be baseball and football, and weather which changes every 5 minutes if you stand still long enough. i was telling her though they make such a big deal out of global warming, but if you watch anything about how our earth has evolved over the millenia, you can see that alot of this is nature.  i highly doubt that is all because of us, despite what al gore says.  i am sure some of it is us but the rest is mother nature.  there was a commercial on tv many many years ago (and yes i am dating myself on this) where mother nature says "you dont fool with mother nature." and that is a correct statement, she is completely in control of earth.  and on that note will be back later.

i dont think getting old is such a bad thing

i dont know why there are so many commercials for women for age defying moisturizers. what about getting old is such a bad thing? i am turning 50 this year, i have a husband of 28 years, and a beautiful daughter and son in law, and parents that are still living.  i would rather get old versus the alternative.
